Where We Install Trench Drains

We serve every corner of the Greater Toronto Area. Find your city below.

GTA install conditions

What's different about installing a trench drain in the GTA

Three local realities decide more about your install than the brand of grate.

Freeze-thaw cycle (about 60–80 days a year)

Channel anchoring and grate fastening have to assume the slab around them will heave and contract. We bed channels in fibre-reinforced concrete and use lockable grates on every install. Loose-bedded DIY work pops free by year two.

Permit landscape varies by municipality

Most residential drains tying into existing sump or weeping-tile outlets don't need a permit. New municipal storm-sewer tie-ins do — and the rule differs between Toronto, York, Peel, Halton, and Durham. We pull the permit; you don't.

Soil and slope across the GTA

North York and Vaughan are mostly clay — slow-draining, channel slope matters most. Lakeshore neighbourhoods (Etobicoke, Scarborough Bluffs, Mississauga south) are sandy or fill — anchoring matters most. Every site visit starts with reading the dirt.

What changes between cities

How the city affects your quote

Toronto (incl. North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, East York)

Stricter laneway and front-yard permits in the old city. Tree-protection zones common. Older infrastructure means tie-ins are easier inside city than out.

York Region (Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Aurora)

Heavy new-build neighbourhoods. Stormwater management often already engineered — we tie into existing infrastructure rather than design it. Faster permits than the City of Toronto.

Peel & Halton (Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Milton)

Long suburban driveways are common. C250 channels (not B125) more often spec'd. Faster site access, easier truck parking, shorter install days on average.

Durham (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington)

Newer subdivisions with engineered drainage. Older lakeshore lots with original 1970s plumbing — wider price band depending on lot age.

FAQ

GTA service coverage

My city isn't in the grid above — do you still come out?

Yes, if you're inside the Greater Toronto Area. The cards above are the cities with their own pages because they have unique local notes. We install across every GTA municipality, including Caledon, Whitchurch-Stouffville, Georgina, Uxbridge, Clarington, Halton Hills, King, and the smaller townships. Call (647) 558-4885 and we'll quote it.

Do you charge for travel to outlying cities like Oshawa or Burlington?

No. Quoted prices are all-in across the GTA. We build crew routing into our scheduling — a site visit in Oshawa or Burlington isn't a separate trip charge.

How long from first call to a crew on site?

Site visit usually within 2–5 business days. Install scheduling depends on materials lead time and crew slot — most off-the-shelf residential jobs go in within 2–3 weeks of the quote being approved. Emergency repairs are same-day or next-day.

Do you only install, or do you repair existing drains too?

Both. We repair, re-bed, re-grate, and clean existing trench drains across the GTA — including drains we didn't install. If the channel body is sound but the grate or anchoring has failed, repair is usually 30–50% of the cost of a fresh install.

Need a trench drain spec'd or installed?

Free site visit across the GTA. We'll tell you what you actually need — no upsell.
